Electrifying incentive for Mitsubishi Electric Australia

Queenstown lived up to its reputation as the home of adventure as members of Australia’s Mitsubishi Electric Dealer Incentive jet boated, bungy jumped, tobogganed, and drove their way through a seven-night programme in the resort town.

Incentive Action’s Anthony Gray says the Sydney-based agency has organised Mitsubishi Electric Australia’s Dealer Incentive for the past 15 years, and with an excellent programme in Italy in 2019 and a cancelled trip to London in 2020, expectations were high.

“After Italy in 2019 they said ‘I don’t know how you’re going to top this’, and we did it with Queenstown in 2022. They said that it was one of the best programmes we’ve ever done.

“We’d stayed in Australia in 2021 and were keen to get overseas again. New Zealand was chosen predominantly due to its proximity to Australia with Covid still around. We looked at Fiji and New Caledonia, but Queenstown was easier.

“The scenery is totally different, the action activities – jetboat, bungy, quadbike, that’s what Queenstown is known for. The snow was awesome; we enjoyed a dress-up ‘Christmas in July’ party. Plus, Queenstown’s such a cool town, there was plenty to entertain the group at night.”

Guests were all based at the Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa, with a welcome function at the Skyline Queenstown on the Sunday evening kicking off proceedings.

Monday’s activities included back country touring with Nomad Safaris in custom made 4WDs, and a visit to Arrowtown, an historic gold mining town in the Otago region.

Tuesday offered snow-based activities on Coronet Peak, followed by a cruise on the steamship TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak high country farm for a BBQ buffet dinner.

On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday the visitors were split into groups to rotate between optional tours, a wine tour to Gibbston Valley, and a day at Oxbow Adventure Park and Highlands Motorsport Park.

The farewell party was held at the Kawarau Bungy Centre where brave guests enjoyed bungy jumps and the zipride.

“The favourite was the day at Oxbow and Highlands, with helicopter transfers boasting great views in between – they loved that.

“The food was amazing. We had a great lunch at Gibbston Valley and the dinner at Walter Peak were highlights,” Gray says.

“We did have to cancel scheduled flights over Milford Sound due to the weather – but you can’t control the weather.

“Overall, we had 100% positive feedback.”
