Venues

New Zealand’s world-class conference and event venues are sure to inspire.

Those looking to host a major international conference will benefit from three new purpose-built, next generation convention centres in our major cities.

Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre opened in May 2022, offering 28,000sqm of flexible event space including a 1,400-seat tiered auditorium, divisible into two 700-seat venues.

Tākina - Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre opened in May 2023 in New Zealand's capital city, offering flexible conference and exhibition space with theatre capacity for 1,600 delegates.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand International Convention Centre in Auckland (theatre capacity 2,850) is currently under construction and scheduled to open mid-2025.

These are in addition to excellent large-scale event options in the regional centres, including Claudelands in Waikato (6,000 theatre-style), the Energy Events Centre in Rotorua (4,000 theatre-style), and Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin (2,500 theatre-style).

If you’re after something more unique, New Zealand offers a range of atmospheric event venues, from heritage buildings to wineries, waterfront function spaces to museums and art galleries.

Many of our wide variety of accommodation providers offer event spaces too – from major international brand hotels to five-star boutique properties and luxury lodges.
